The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with the president and cabinet members during the Government’s Week, addressed and appreciated the government achievements over the past year which could rekindle hope and rebuild public trust in the government in some areas.
Ayatollah Khamenei also stressed on the role a strong economy will play in the country under the current conditions, which will occur if enough attention is paid to the available domestic capabilities while not depending too much on the outside world.
To this end, the Supreme Leader referred to production as the primary goal in the course of pursuing economic development, which led to emphasis on some other priorities, among which were the “construction of petro-refineries”, “completing the added value chain in mineral industries”, “putting an end to selling unprocessed materials and products”, “completing the north-south and east-west transit corridors”, “increasing the country’s international transport capacity and the domestic road network to enhance transportation”, and “expanding the use of the unique capacity of the seas”, in order to prevent Iran’s human and natural resources from going to waste.
Furthermore, he also discussed the importance of recruiting young people in executive and legislative branches of the government, highlighting that the youthful spirit they will bring with them will be worth the price paid for the probable mistakes they might make along the way.
